Chelsea will launch an £80million bid for Wilfried Zaha in January if they get their transfer ban overturned, claims a report.
The Sun claims Zaha reluctantly agreed to stay at Selhurst Park on deadline day, but only until the winter window.
Roy Hodgson admitted that he sent the striker home from training on Thursday because he “wasn’t in the right frame” and admitted that Zaha’s “beef” with Palace chief Steve Parish.
“It hasn’t worked out for him in that respect but now I am looking forward to seeing him do this season what he has done for us in the past few seasons.
“We respect him and he respects us and we expect him to come back and do what he does.
“His beef is with the chairman and the owners because he wanted to leave and they didn’t receive an acceptable offer, but when you sign long-term contracts then you have to accept this kind of thing and come to terms with that,” Hodgson added, making reference to the five-year deal that Zaha signed last summer.
“I certainly don’t have a problem with him.”
Zaha handed in a transfer request on Wednesday in a bid to force through a move with both Everton and Arsenal interested in the forward.
The Sun claim: “The Selhurst Park side believe the Scousers ‘got to him’ and tried to pile on the pressure to force through the move.”
Everton reportedly were prepared to put a cash-plus-players deal together worth around £100m for Zaha, and pay the former Manchester United man £200,000-a-week but Parish refused to budge.

Instead they landed Alex Iwobi for £35m, while Arsenal signed Nicolas Pepe, who ultimately cost a club-record £72m.
It will pave the way for Chelsea to make a move in January, as long as they can get their transfer ban lifted
