A winger, he has started eight games and made a further seven appearances as a substitute. So far, he has scored two goals and provided three assists. Hence, the fee of just over €6m that Sampdoria paid to sign him is already looking like a shrewd investment. They may be able to sell him for a decent profit further down the line. In fact, there are already potential suitors queuing up for his signature. According to Corriere Dello Sport, Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen are showing signs of interest. Spurs are looking at long-term reinforcements in attack. For example, they signed Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale on loan for this season, but may have to consider other options on a permanent basis. Damsgaard would be one for the future, but as he is showing with Sampdoria, he could also make an impact in the short-term. Therefore, he could be an ideal option to complement Tottenham’s first-choice attackers. It is not suggested how much they would be willing to pay yet, nor what Sampdoria will demand.
