Hammer blow for Tottenham as talkSPORT report transfer coup is off Philippe Coutinho is poised to reject the chance to join Tottenham on loan, according to talkSPORT. Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been in touch with the player to convince him to join the club on loan. The Brazilian’s already been linked with a move to north London, with reports in L’Equipe suggesting he could be set to join Unai Emery’s project at Arsenal. That was denied by ESPN sources, who claimed Coutinho was never a target for Unai Emery, who earlier this week rejected talk that he was a target for the Gunners. UOL in Brazil also claimed Coutinho was against the idea of signing for Arsenal due to their lack of Champions League football. But  Sky Sports later suggested that it could actually be their fierce rivals that could be set for his signature. Reports suggested that Pochettino has called Coutinho personally in a bid to convince the Barcelona man to join him at Spurs. The pair worked together for half a season, with the Argentinian taking the player on loan at Espanyol during the 2011-12 campaign. Now though, talkSPORT report Coutinho does not fancy a loan move to Spurs, despite struggling for form at Camp Nou since arriving from Liverpool. Barcelona are understood to be hoping to sell the player outright to help raise funds to bring Neymar back to the club, but time and options are running out for the Catalans. Sky Sport Italia are claiming that Paulo Dybala could be Spurs’s focus after they had a €75m bid accepted for the Argentina ace.
