Wenger regrets over Arsenal failure to land Dortmund sensation Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he attempted to sign Jadon Sancho when the winger was at Manchester City. The Frenchman admitted that he tried to lure Sancho to the Emirates when the young winger was struggling for game time at City, and that he thought a deal was going to happen before the attacker eventually joined Borussia Dortmund. Sancho has been in superb for this season, helping Dortmund top the Bundesliga and earning his first three senior England caps in 2018. The 18-year-old, who was born in London, headed to Germany in an £8million deal in August 2017 and has not looked back since, prompting Wenger to rue the one that got away. Wenger told beIN Sports: “I wanted to take him from Man City when he didn’t get the games. “I tried to lure him because he’s from London. I tried to get him to Arsenal. He’s one of the best players of his generation. He can dribble, he has the arrogance. “There’s something in there that is part of the big players. You can call it arrogance, confidence, belief; but it has to be there.” Sancho was back in London on Wednesday night when his Dortmund side crashed to a 3-0 Champions League defeat against Tottenham. Having impressed in the first half, the winger struggled badly in the second and failed to inspire his side to a competitive result in the two-legged affair.   Get the latest personalised Arsenal products on our new TEAMtalk Gunners shop!   The post Wenger regrets over Arsenal failure to land Dortmund sensation appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
