Arsenal are in talks over a deal for Bruno Guimaraes and also have four striker targets, Tottenham are chasing an Atletico Madrid star, while the New Year’s Day Transfer Gossip claims Liverpool are readying a cut-price raid on Wolves.
BRUNO GUIMARAES TALKS FOR ARSENAL
Arsenal are holding talks with Lyon over a move for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to reports.
The Gunners are looking to add more options to their squad heading into the second half of the season. Indeed, Mikel Arteta’s side are well placed in fourth after an excellent run of results.
However, the club are all too aware they need reinforcements if they are to hold off West Ham, Tottenham and Manchester United to secure a Champions League spot.
Now, as per the Daily Mirror, talks are underway for Guimaraes.
Citing journalist Nicolo Schira, they state Edu is a huge fan of his fellow Brazilian and has long been aware of his talents. He first moved to Lyon in January 2020 and has caught the eye at the base of their midfield.
Now they claim talks are underway over a deal to bring him to Emirates Stadium.
Guimaraes, however, will not come cheap with his deal still having two and a half years to run.
The three-times capped midfielder has 24 appearances this season, making five assists.
Bruno Guimaraes first, Aubameyang replacements next
Meanwhile, the Mirror claims Arteta and Edu have a shortlist of four names they want as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng.
With Aubameyang to pick from three destinations, the paper claims Arsenal now know the four men they are looking at as replacements.
Alexander Isak, Dusan Vlahovic, Dominic Calvert-Lewis as well as Ollie Watkins are the four options they fancy.
