Liverpool contract rebel issues warning over ‘we’re back’ claims Georginio Wijnaldum insists Liverpool have not yet proved they are back to their title-winning best. The reigning champions have overcome their recent dip in form with back-to-back wins at Tottenham and West Ham to climb to third in the table. Wijnaldum marked his 200th Premier League appearance with the third goal at the London Stadium after Mohamed Salah’s double, the second of which was a spectacular counter-attack. The Reds are now four points behind leaders Manchester City, who travel to Anfield on Sunday. Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum, who is yet to sign a new deal at Anfield, told the club website: “I don’t want to say we are back because I think you have to show it every game again. That’s what we have to do. “We just have to continue to play the way we scored the second goal and try to do it every game. Of course, every game is difficult but when the chance is there to create a chance like this we should do it.     “I think it’s a really bad thing to think that we are back because every game is another situation, another game and another opponent. We have to do it again. I think we look at it that way and just try to play the games with confidence. “I don’t think we should think about that like leading or chasing. We just have to look at it game by game, give everything game by game and then we will see where we will be at the end of the season. I think that’s where the focus should be right now.” Craig Dawson grabbed a late consolation for West Ham, who remain fifth despite seeing their six-match winning run come to an end.   ‘He’s not done it at Liverpool’ Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp says the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp does not fancy Takumi Minamino after the German coach allowed him to join Southampton on loan at the 11th hour on deadline day. It was a transfer that came out of the blue and while all the focus was on the incoming duo Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak, Minamino slipped out of the back door. The  £7.25m recruit from Red Bull Salzburg in 2019 joined Saints on loan until the end of the season on Monday night. Liverpool must have circulated the forward’s availability and then sanctioned the move after Minamino had become lost at the fringes of Liverpool’s attack. The Japan international has only started 12 games since his arrival a little over 12 months ago. And despite the Reds’ usual front three not firing in recent weeks, he has only played seven minutes of Premier League action since scoring in the 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace. Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp was brutally honest when assessing Minamino’s exit. “Well, he’s not done it at Liverpool, has he?” said Redknapp. “If Liverpool fancied him they wouldn’t have let him go. “They wouldn’t be letting players go out on loan if they weren’t any use to the squad.” READ MORE… The post Liverpool contract rebel issues warning over ‘we’re back’ claims appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
