Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool target Wijnaldum replacement with ‘summer transfer on the way’; Haaland sale looking nailed on Liverpool have a Bundesliga replacement lined up for Georginio Wijnaldum, while a move for Erling Haaland this summer looks more and more likely, all in the Euro papers. ZAKARIA THE MAN FOR KLOPP Liverpool are coming to terms with the prospect of losing Gini Wijnaldum for free this summer. Three years after seeing Emre Can leave for nothing to Juventus, the same could happen to one of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool stalwarts. Wijnaldum has yet to agree a new deal with the champions and is said to be unconvinced by the current offer on the table. Wijnaldum is into the final six months of his contract and can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs. Barcelona are keen and Liverpool are looking for replacements. And, according to Sport Bild via Sport Witness they are “interested” in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria. Jurgen Klopp and Co are apparently very keen on the Switzerland holding midfielder. There is though rival interest from Man City, while Atlético Madrid remain “hot” for the 24-year-old. Time is ticking down on the player’s contract; he will have 12 months remaining on his deal in the summer. Mönchengladbach and their sporting director Max Eberl want the player to renew his contract. However, an extension has so far not been forthcoming and “signs are now pointing to separation” in the summer.     Indeed the German side already have a replacement after signing Kouadio Koné, 19, from Toulouse last month. Liverpool are believed to be heading the race for the player, who suffered a serious knee injury last March.
