Speaking in Friday’s latest press conference, Ancelotti gave another promising update on the situation. “I’m not in there but I know, I think next week, they agreed,” the Italian told reporters (via the Liverpool Echo). “I think next week he is going to sign officially a new contract.” While Digne has settled over his future at Everton, uncertainty remains over how the Toffees will manage without Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The England international had returned to form with goals against Leeds and Tottenham. However, he encountered a hamstring problem in the 5-4 FA Cup win over Spurs. As such, Ancelotti said that January deadline-day signing Joshua King could take his place in Sunday’s clash with Fulham. Ancelotti hints at King role “I think Joshua King can play in that position, but as a winger also,” Ancelotti said (via the Liverpool Echo). “Of course, without Calvert-Lewin there is the possibility to put him in the first XI. It is a strong possibility, of course. “His physical condition is good and his adaptation to the team is working well.” Ancelotti also said that he hoped that Brazilian Richarlison has shaken off his recent spell of poor form.
