Liverpool seem in pole position to land the Argentina international. And, asked about a possible move to Real Madrid, he told Sky Sports: “I set no limits for myself. “Once you join a national team like Argentina, you feel you are ready to play with anyone. I hope I am going to have a great career and I am working to achieve it.” Udinese coach Luca Gotti took responsibility for loss at Marassi and refused to blame De Paul. “It’s not his nor the club’s fault,” he said. “As the team’s ‘captain’, I feel I am the first responsible for this. We put ourselves in this situation and now we have to come our from it.” Wijnaldum makes his mind up Liverpool and any other interested club will need to pay €40m to seal De Paul’s signature. And they may be prepared to do that, with rumours that Georginio Wijnaldum will leave next summer. The Dutchman will reportedly reject the offer of a new Anfield deal in favour of a move to Barcelona. The Netherlands international is keen to work with compatriot Ronald Koeman again. However, the Sunday Mirror claim he would move to the Nou Camp regardless of who was in charge. The Reds want to keep the playmaker but it might be that his mind is already made up. De Paul is four years his junior and seems supremely confident of his ability to play at a higher level. That is good news for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp but Real’s intentions will be a serious threat.
