Mourinho is keen on the 22-year-old after following his career closely over the last few years. The report from Italy claims contact has been made with Real and “there is a will” to get a loan deal done, with an option to buy.     Inter, AC Milan and Roma have all been interested in the player previously, but Spurs have stepped ahead for the defender. Spurs do have doubts over the long-term future of Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian has re-established himself as important player under Mourinho once again this season. However, De Telegraaf claims PSV Eindhoven have been in touch with Alderweireld’s agent to discuss a potential return to Dutch football. If that deal was to go any further the Spurs would need a replacement and Militao is the preferred target. Lloris talks halted Meanwhile, contract talks between Tottenham and a key Mourinho man have completely broken down, according to reports. Veteran goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be out of contract in 18 months and has been linked with a return to France. New PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino managed the France star at Spurs and is rumoured to want him again. The 2018 World Cup winner joined Tottenham in 2012 from Lyon and has been a mainstay in the side ever since. However, he has yet to win silverware in north London and there are suggestions that he wants a fresh challenge. To that end, Spurs are said to have opened preliminary talks over a new deal last summer. Those discussions led nowhere, however, and Football Insider claims Pochettino’s arrival in Paris has caused a major worry for Jose Mourinho’s men.
