Glasgow giants Celtic are known admirers and had been trying to get him to sign a pre-contract agreement. However, with Liverpool now in the picture, their interest may come to nothing. Davies came up through the Preston youth ranks and made his senior debut in 2013 as a 17-year-old. He struggled to nail down a regular starting berth and was loaned out to several clubs. The Barrow-in-Furness-born stopper spent time with York, Tranmere, Southport, Newport County and Fleetwood. He managed to establish himself in the North End first team in the 2017-2018 campaign. The centre-back has now racked up 145 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites. He has long been linked with a move away from the Championship club but the Liverpool link has come out of nowhere. Preston are 11th in the Championship and six points from the play-off picture.
