Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp explained how his side were able to rediscover their attacking threat against West Ham, and remained coy amid links to Preston centre-half Ben Davies.
Liverpool produced a dazzling attacking display in the second-half to secure a vital three points at West Ham.
Mohamed Salah was the catalyst behind the victory, scoring a pair of goals that indicated his recent barren run is firmly behind him.
The Reds’ clean sheet was lost late on, but the makeshift central defensive pairing of Jordan Henderson and Nat Phillips performed capably throughout amid a crippling injury crisis.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Klopp said: “It was a great game, a very professional game, very controlled against usually a flying side.

“We didn’t create enough in the first half. We made little adjustments at half-time and it paid off. We scored three unbelievable goals.
“In the first half we had three midfielders on the other side of the ball so Xherdan Shaqiri had to pass backwards. We wanted Divock Origi more in the centre. We played a double 10 then with Thiago and Shaqiri. James Milner is fine but showed signs of hamstring so we chose the right moment to bring him off.
“Shaq I thought he passed the ball too early. What Mo [Salah] made of it was incredible. The first touch was unbelievable.
“These boys are a really good group. They’re not happy at not being successful, not winning, but they always have the right attitude.”
On links of a late swoop for Preston defender Ben Davies, the German joked: “Ben Davies, Tottenham… I have nothing to say about it.
“With this line-up it’s not a problem, it’s only if something else happens.”
Salah blasts ‘joy-killing’ VAR
Man of the match Salah also spoke to the press, telling Sky Sports: “A good win for us today, a second away game in a row. They’re a tough team and played a good game. I’ve scored a few goals against them.
“We just need to carry on and keep winning. It was a big responsibility [with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino not starting].
“I don’t like VAR. My opinion is it kills the joy of football. In some other country they give the striker more space [benefit of doubt]. I don’t want to get fined but my opinion is I don’t like it.
“If you want to win the league you have to win every game. City were struggling at the beginning of the season, then we were struggling a few games ago.”
