Liverpool look to snap up an exciting Brazilian talent with the influence of a senior star, while three new clubs are eyeing an Arsenal star – both in the latest Euro Paper Talk.
REDS EYEING BRAZILIAN TEENAGER
Liverpool have begun discussions with the representatives of Fluminense youngster Kayky over a potential deal, according to a report.
The Reds raided the Brazilian club in October for goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga, who has joined the Anfield reserve ranks.
As such, Netflu reports that, using their solid relationship with their South American counterparts, Liverpool want to complete a deal for a second Fluminense talent in a matter of months.
This time, exciting 17-year-old attacker Kayky is on their radar and they have opened talks about a deal.
What’s more, the report outlines that, unlike the other clubs in the hunt, Liverpool want to set out a ‘career plan’ for the youngster.
Indeed, senior Liverpool Brazilian Roberto Firmino is supposedly fuelling that idea.
Netflu adds that, should the Reds’ transfer come through, they will sign Kayky to a deal contract to the one which Pitaluga is on.
But there remains fierce competition for Kayky’s signature. Earlier reports from UOL claimed that Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City have also shown firm interest in the youngster.
That report also claimed that Shakhtar are in pole position for the player after making an ‘initial offer’. As such, this latest speculation suggests that Liverpool have made up ground on their rivals.
Kayky currently plays in Fluminense’s youth ranks, however, he is already on the international development pathway. He made his debut for Brazil’s Under-16s in February 2019 and has made one further outing since.
