Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering lining up a bid for an in-form Celtic striker as a temporary replacement for Raul Jimenez, a report claims.
Odsonne Edouard netted 28 goals for the Scottish champions last season, attracting attention south of the border.
The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 19 games so far this campaign.
TodoFichajes reports that Wolves are the latest outfit readying an offer for the attacker next month.
The source states that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will make an initial €20million (£18million) bid for his services.
He would likely come in as first choice attacker for the time being with Jimenez sidelined long-term with a fractured skull.
The Frenchman was linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs over the summer, including Leeds United and Aston Villa.
Back then, he was valued at around £30million, quite a bit more than Wolves are reportedly prepared to offer.
According to The Athletic, the Villains are unlikely to pursue him in January, though.
Meanwhile, former Celtic forward John Hartson has mooted that Edouard did want to leave Scotland in the summer.
Speaking to the Times he said: “I think he might have had his heart set on leaving.
“Having to get his mind right again, face another season with Celtic… it’s maybe affected him slightly.
“But it was a difficult one for Celtic. They needed him for ten in a row.”

Coady named in pundits’ team of the year
Wolves centre-half Conor Coady has been named in Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville’s Premier League team of the year.
The Sky Sports pundits said he had performed better than most other defenders in his position throughout 2020.
Neville said: “The second centre-back was a debatable one. We had Eric Dier, Harry Maguire, Ayermic Laporte, Tyrone Mings and Conor Coady – but Coady’s stats but were better than the rest.
“He’s part of a great Wolves defence and has broken into the England team.
Carragher added: “I went with Coady, not only for his Wolves performances but for his England breakthrough too.
“There’s always a question mark surrounding players who don’t play at the top level, whether it would be Champions League or international football.
“But Coady stepped up for England, impressing everyone with his personality. We can talk about his clean sheets and how many games he plays but his passing out from the back is as good as anyone – possibly only Van Dijk is better than him.”
Coady next takes to the field on Sunday when Wolves take on Tottenham on Sunday.
