Arsenal expect to lose Hector Bellerin in January and have an exciting £25m replacement in mind, a key Liverpool man continues to stall on a new deal, while Mauricio Pochettino is on the brink of a new job, according to Monday’s transfer gossip.
LAMPTEY TO REPLACE BELLERIN AT ARSENAL
Barcelona are lining up a move for Hector Bellerin – and Arsenal are eyeing Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey as his replacement.
Bellerin has been with Arsenal since signing as a teenager back in 2011 from Barcelona. Joan Laporte’s re-election as Barcelona president looks set to speed up the process. Laporte has made Bellerin’s signing one of his mission statements.
And with just 18 months left on his deal, Arsenal will be open to a decent offer for the 25-year-old.
Furthermore, the Gunners also know of interest in Bellerin from PSG and Bayern Munich, meaning his sale looks likely next month.
Mikel Arteta and Edu have set their sights on his replacement, with a huge bid to tempt Brighton to sell Lamptey in the offing.
The former Chelsea man has been impressing at the Amex this season. His form has seen him tipped as a future England international.
The 20-year-old is also being watched by Man City and Bayern, but according to the Daily Mirror, it is Arsenal who are set to pounce.
Brighton are desperate to tie the London-born star to a new deal, despite his current deal still having two and a half years to run.
Their desire to tie him down is being sharpened amid interest from Arsenal. No fee has been put on Lamptey, though an offer of £25m may possibly tempt the Seagulls into a deal.
There’s suggestions Arsenal may have to wait until the summer to secure Lamptey though with Brighton unwilling to sell mid-season.
