Solskjaer taking positives from ‘solid’ Man Utd display to top off ‘very good week’ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appeared happy with Manchester United’s performance despite the Red Devils again failing to pick up three points at Old Trafford.  United drew 0-0 with Chelsea to take their winless home run to three games to start the season. It is the first time since 1972 that the Red Devils haven’t won any of their opening three home games of a campaign since 1972. The point also means they remain in the bottom half of the table with just seven points from five games. But Solskjaer was keen to point out that he felt United were the better of the two teams on the night and were the most likely to win the contest. Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “[It was] two teams who played in Europe this week, I think that showed a little bit in the first half. I think in the second half we pushed on and, if that Stretford End was full, we might have got some help and got that ball over the line. “I think we pegged them back, created some half decent opportunities. [It was] a very good block by Thiago Silva and a great save by the ‘keeper [Edouard Mendy]. He’s made a couple of fantastic saves from Marcus [Rashford]. “All in all a good defensive performance and we created enough big chances, or at least the two big ones, that could have given us the win.” Asked what the main positives he was taking away from the match were, he added: “We have a clean sheet, we had some pressure here but we stopped the home run of defeats.   “We wanted to win, of course you want to win the game of football home, but I think it’s a solid performance when you think of the week we’ve had. We’ve had a very good week with two wins and a draw.” Van de Beek ‘will get his games’ Solskjaer was also questioned about the lack of game time for summer signing Donny van de Beek. Having been brought on as an 88th minute substitute against PSG in midweek, the midfielder watched the entire game against Chelsea from the bench. It led to questions over why United spent £35million on the Dutchman if he is not going to play regularly. When asked about the situation after the game, Solskjaer gave nothing away as to why he hasn’t been playing, but insisted he will be given opportunities. “Don’t worry about that, he’ll get his games,” he said. “It’s easy to say who should be playing and more difficult to say who shouldn’t.”   The post Solskjaer taking positives from ‘solid’ Man Utd display to top off ‘very good week’ appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
