Harry Wilson is ready to leave Liverpool on loan with four Championship clubs keen, while Man Utd have a new name at the top of their January transfer wish-list, according to Wednesday’s paper gossip.
HARRY WILSON WANTED BY FOUR SIDES
Liverpool winger Harry Wilson looks set to leave Anfield before the EFL window shuts this Friday.
The Wales star has been limited to just one appearance for the Reds so far this season – the Carabao Cup exit on penalties against Arsenal.
He is a long way down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order though and is yet to feature in the Premier League this season.
Wilson had hoped to secure a Premier League switch before the window shuts amid links to Burnley, Leeds, Newcastle and Aston Villa.
But none followed up on their reported initial interest, with Liverpool’s £18m fee said to be too high.
Now, according to the Daily Telegraph, Wilson is ready to accept a temporary move into the Championship to try and reignite his career.
As per the paper, Nottingham Forest, Derby, Cardiff and Swansea are all looking to land Wilson on a season’s loan.
Wilson knows Derby well, having spent the 2018/19 season there under Frank Lampard.
A move to Forest, would have replaced Sabri Lamouchi with Chris Hughton, would be the most controversial, given his Rams links.
However, moves to Cardiff and Swansea cannot be discounted either. Both Welsh clubs have promotion aspirations this season. Swans boss Steve Cooper also worked wonders with Rhian Brewster last season when taking him on loan. He has since secured a big-money switch to Sheffield United.
Wilson hopes a move elsewhere will also reinvogorate his career.
A season-long loan move could be arranged, though it’s thought Wilson could seek a get-out clause should a Premier League side meet Liverpool’s asking price in January.
