Paper Talk: Chelsea deflated as 95-goal star target closes in on new contract; Everton to join Tottenham in January striker hunt Chelsea receive word that a 95-goal target is in talks about a new contract, while Everton join Tottenham in the hunt for a striker – all in the latest Paper Talk.   JUVE STAR CLOSES IN ON NEW DEAL Juventus director of football Fabio Patrici has revealed that he is in talks to tie Paulo Dybala down to a new contract. Dybala has two years left on his current contract in Turin and has faced speculation over an exit of late. Indeed, the most serious interest came from Tottenham last summer but a deal failed to materialise. Since then, though, reports have linked Chelsea with a move for the Argentine. The Blues are reportedly monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation, aware that Juve have so far reached no agreement over his future. However, speaking to Sky Sport Italia (via Sky Sports), Patrici said he hopes Dybala will pen fresh terms at his club. “We’re in talks to extend Paulo Dybala’s contract,” he said. “He wants to stay and we want to keep him, he’s part of our future. “We’ll continue the negotiations to find an agreement.” Dybala has scored 95 goals in 230 games since his move to Juve from Palermo in 2015. Indeed last season, he scored 11 Serie A goals in 33 matches to help his club to another top-flight title. This campaign, meanwhile, he has made only two appearances after initially struggling with injury.
