AC Milan are interested in signing frozen out Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot, according to reports.
Sky Sports and Sky Sport Italia claim Milan have asked for a loan deal for Dalot, who is out of favour at Old Trafford.
Milan have proposed a temporary switch with an option to buy, but United are reportedly looking to sell.
The Italian broadcaster suggest that the Rossoneri are considering whether to make a new offer to match the demands of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Portugal U21 international played just once for United following the restart of the coronavirus-interrupted 2019/20 season. And he is yet to feature during this campaign for Solskjaer.
The £19m recruit, who arrived from Porto in 2018, is well down Solskjaer’s pecking order. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Timothy Fosu-Mensah have been preferred at right-back with youngster Brandon Williams also able to slot in on the right.
In fact earlier this month Duncan Castles claimed Dalot was apparently frustrated with his lack of game time and wanted to leave the club.
But, as per the source, Solskjaer was apparently unwilling to let the Portugal youth star move on.
“They do have to move players out and it’s interesting to see what’s happening with two guys who’ve dropped well down the pecking order in that very heavily-staffed defensive section of the Manchester United squad,” Castles said on the Transfer Window podcast.
“I can tell you that Dalot’s not happy with his situation at United and is keen to leave. However he doesn’t have permission from the club to leave.”
AC Milan search for right-back
Milan are searching for a right-back and have been linked with Tottenham’s Serge Aurier and Norwich’s Max Aarons.
Aurier looks to be heading out of Spurs after Matt Doherty arrived from Wolves in the summer.
The Republic of Ireland star has started all three games at right-back. His arrival means Jose Mourinho will listen to offers for Aurier.
Football Insider reported that chairman Daniel Levy had arranged a deal away for the Aurier to join Spartak Moscow for a “significant fee”.
The 27-year-old though blocked the move as he had no interest in a move to Russia.
