Solskjaer gives ‘big yes’ to forming much-anticipated Man Utd partnership Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he expects to see a partnership between midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba blossom when football returns. Football across the world has been halted since March but decisions about whether to resume have begun to be made – France and the Netherlands have cancelled their seasons but the Bundesliga is set to resume. The Premier League is yet to make such a decision, which has allowed Pogba – who has had his campaign wrecked by two foot injuries – to fully recover. January arrival Fernandes, meanwhile, was likely frustrated at play being halted after his blistering start saw him pick up the top flight’s Player of the Month award for February. Speaking to Sky Sports’ The Football Show, however, Solskjaer opened up on his excitement at having Pogba and Fernandes – as well as his other players – back on the pitch. “Good players can always play together, so definitely, they can – it’s a big yes,” the manager said when asked about the possibility of Pogba and Fernandes playing together. “I think it’s exciting, we do have an exciting squad. I’ve got Scott [McTominay], Fred, Nemanja [Matic] .There’s many games coming up and I’m sure we can find a good connection between them. “We’ve been discussing that as a coaching team of course, and we’re looking forward to it. “Of course Bruno coming in, making the impact he made, it was a boost for everyone, the club, supporters and players. Getting Paul and Marcus Rashford back would be fantastic. “Paul has had a difficult season with injuries, and Marcus as well is getting back. So for us, and for them too, this gives them a chance to start on a par or even ahead of other players.” Solskjaer‘s latest comments come after months of speculation surrounding Pogba’s future, the Frenchman linked with a move back to Juventus or to Real Madrid. Indeed, such speculation was heightened earlier this year by comments from Pogba’s outspoken agent, Mino Raiola. United’s last game before the season ground to a halt saw them demolish Austrian side LASK Linz 5-0 behind closed doors in the Europa League’s last 16 stage. In other news, Gary Neville has predicted that United will be in a much better position than some of Europe’s other big clubs to sign top players when the transfer window re-opens. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he expects to see a partnership between midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba blossom when football returns.

So for us, and for them too, this gives them a chance to start on a par or even ahead of other players.”

Solskjaer‘s latest comments come after months of speculation surrounding Pogba’s future, the Frenchman linked with a move back to Juventus or to Real Madrid.
