Ryan Giggs persuades Manchester United over a £20million raid, while Arsenal receive word from Real Madrid about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – all in the latest Paper Talk.
MAN UTD TO GO AFTER JOE RODON
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sanctioned a move for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon after receiving transfer advice from Ryan Giggs, according to reports.
It has previously been claimed that United – alongside Manchester rivals City – are expected to be one of the bidders for the 22-year-old when the transfer window re-opens.
However, the Sunday Mirror claims that Norwegian manager Solskjaer has been convinced by Giggs’ efforts after his fellow United legend’s successful recommendation of Daniel James last summer.
The newspaper adds that United will let go of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling to free up space and funds to go after Rodon.
Rojo and Smalling are out on loan at Estudiantes and Roma, respectively, after struggling for game time in the past year.
Giggs handed Rodon his Wales debut in September and has been impressed by his compatriot’s progress both at club level and on the international stage.
