Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella will seal a move to Ligue 1 side Nantes when his contract expires at the end of June, according to reports.
Chirivella is one of the longest-serving players in the Liverpool camp having joined the club’s youth ranks in 2013 aged 17, making appearances for both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp.
The Spaniard, now 22, has been sent on three loans in his almost-seven-year spell with the Reds but returned from his most recent move last summer and staged something of a resurgence this season.
Chirivella made three appearances in the EFL Cup and three more in the FA Cup and looked particularly impressive against Everton in the third round of the latter competition in January.
However, according to French website 20 Minutes, Klopp is unconvinced that Chirivella can stake a further claim in his side and has chosen not to offer him a new deal.
As such, the midfielder has reportedly agreed a move to Nantes, where a three-year deal will be finalised when the transfer market re-opens.
Chirivella made his first-team debut for Liverpool in 2015 before signing a temporary deal with Go Ahead Eagles in the second half of the 2016/17 campaign.
The next season took the midfielder to Willem II, before he joined LaLiga 2 side Extremadura in January last year for six months.
Liverpool must also make decisions on Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne before their contracts expire on June 30.
Clyne has not featured at all this term after suffering a serious knee injury in pre-season, while Lallana has come up with vital contributions in his sporadic outings but is generally now further down Klopp’s midfield pecking order.
In other news, Erling Braut Haaland has been tipped to impress should he ever make a move to Liverpool.
Haaland scored at Anfield in the Champions League group stages earlier in the season for RB Salzburg, amid a blistering spell of form that led to him securing an exciting move to Borussia Dortmund in January.
