Details emerge of Man Utd talks with agent of French midfield target Manchester United are in continued conversation with the mother and agent of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot about a deal, according to reports. Rabiot moved to Juve from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer, making 24 appearances in his debut season, but he has already been linked with a move elsewhere. Everton were credited with interest in the January transfer window and the latest report claimed that the Frenchman is open to a Premier League move. According to Calciomercato, United have been in talks with his mother Veronique, who also works as his agent, about a potential deal to bring her son to the English top flight. Indeed, the Premier League is thought to be the only market left – due to the financial uncertainties hitting the sport – in which clubs could table a salary similar to the €7million Rabiot earns per year at Juventus. The source also claims that Rabiot’s entourage are convinced that he should move on and would be able to secure a move away if the right club tables a suitable proposal. Previous reports have indicated that United could look to use Paul Pogba as a makeweight in a deal to sign Rabiot.   Pogba has been heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford in recent seasons and it has reportedly emerged that a swap deal is now the only way he will be able to leave the club, given his £80million-plus price tag. However, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retained his expectation last week that he will be able to field Pogba alongside January arrival Bruno Fernandes, who arrived in Manchester with a blistering impact. In other news, Newcastle are reportedly interested in swooping for on-loan United striker Odion Ighalo if the Red Devils choose not to hand him a permanent deal. Ighalo arrived at Old Trafford on deadline day in January and has scored four goals for the club so far.
