Super agent ready to scupper Arsenal hopes of re-signing £48m striker Arsenal’s plans to re-sign young striker Donyell Malen may be scuppered by super-agent Mino Raiola. The Dutch striker left the Gunners for PSV back in 2017 after only featuring at youth level for the north London club. Three years on and the 21-year-old has become a mainstay of the Eredivisie giant’s first-team squad and is attracting a wealth of admirers. Indeed, the Italian agent said last week he wanted to take a ‘great player’ to Real Madrid – and the Daily Mail includes Malen as one of the potential stars Raiola is lining up as a new ‘Galactico’. Other players touted for a move to the Bernabeu include Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and PSG star Marco Verratti. PSV are said to be asking for £48m if they are to part company with one of their prized assets, with Malen being tipped as Karim Benzema’s long-term replacement in Madrid. Arsenal had held out hope of bringing the player back to The Emirates, especially with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being tipped to move on in the summer, but it would appear that Raiola is ready to extinguish that hope. However, Malen may not be back to full fitness by that time, as he faces missing the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. “He is doing well. Donyell regularly visits De Herdgang so that he can be with the group. He has done well to rehabilitate in the lee. He takes the time for that. That is going well,” said PSV coach Ernest Faber recently. “That’s hard to say. I’m not going to assume otherwise it’s a bonus.     “It’s important for Donyell to recover well, but I can’t say much about it. “It’s important to me that he’s going to be in top shape. That’s going to happen.” Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will revamp his squad this summer and at least five players will be axed to fund new arrivals, claims a report. Spanish boss Arteta is facing a huge summer at The Emirates and will have to generate funds for transfers with Arsenal’s place in Europe next season in jeopardy. Arsenal’s plans to re-sign young striker Donyell Malen may be scuppered by super-agent Mino Raiola.
