AC Milan are in talks in Italy with Dejan Lovren’s representatives over a move for the Liverpool defender, claims a report.
La Gazzetta and Milannews both report that former Real Madrid striker Predrag Mijatovic was spotted arriving in Italy to hold talks with the club. Mijatovic is an intermediary for agent Vlado Lemic, who represents a number of Croatian players including Lovren, Nemanja Matic and Luka Modric.
It’s understood Lovren’s proposed move to Milan was under discussion and that has been corroborated by Sport Mediaset, who claim Milan have again rekindled interest in Lovren.
According to reports in the Italian media last month, Lovren was targeted by AC Milan’s new managerial regime as they look to return to the upper echelons of Serie A next season. That came via Gianluca DiMarzio, who claimed the club hoped the promise of regular first-team football would be enough to persuade the former Southampton man to push for the move to the San Siro.
The Reds though are demanding £25million for the defender, who has two years remaining on his deal, and with Liverpool holding the option to extend that by a further 12 months.
Milan apparently want Liverpool to lower their demands for Lovren and that appears to be the major sticking point.

The uncompromising defender, who arrived from Southampton in 2013 for £8.5million, was recommended by fellow Croatian Zvonimir Boban, who played for Milan for 10 seasons between 1991-2001 and who has recently returned to the San Siro.
Calciomercato correspondent Fabrizio Romano claimed Milan had cooled their interest though and were considering Stuttgart defender Ozan Kabak as an alternative to Lovren and Kostas Manolas. However, Kabak has snubbed a move to the San Siro in favour of joining Schalke on a five-year deal.
