West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic has rocked West Ham’s pre-season plans by lodging a transfer request for the second consecutive transfer window, according to Sky Sports News.
The Austrian seemed set to leave the club in January, with Chinese clubs Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande thought to be possible landing destinations for the disgruntled forward.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini was resolute on his desire to retain the services of Arnautovic, rejecting a £35 million bid and eventually convincing him to stay with the offer of a new four-year contract worth £100,000 a week.
But Arnautovic has now performed another U-turn, and reportedly told the club he is ‘determined to leave’ with an unnamed Chinese club rumoured to be circling.
A potential exit will leave West Ham short in striking options following their decision not to renew target man Andy Carroll’s contract.
Arnautovic has been a key performer at The London stadium, being directly involved in 15 more goals than any other Hammer since his debut in August of 2017.

West Ham are expected to be steadfast in their quest to keep their star player, especially after rumours recently emerged of a big money bid for their star centre back.
