Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prioritising a huge double swoop, while Arsenal are targeting a young Dortmund star, according to Friday’s European papers.
SOLSKJAER TURNS DOWN MONACO MAN
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly rejected the chance to sign Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.
Tielemans impressed in a half-season loan spell with Leicester after arriving from Monaco in January, and reports have suggested the Belgian is keen to stay in the Premier League.
Recent speculation even suggested the former Anderlecht man is now a genuine target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is looking to follow up United’s acquisition of Dan James from Swansea with more young talent.
Belgian outlet DH have stated that a bid of around £36m (€40m) was submitted by United to Monaco for Tielemans, though reports claim the Red Devils now have other priorities.
Although Solskjaer is a big admirer of Tielemans, it is claimed that he will prioritise moves for Newcastle United youngster Sean Longstaff and Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes.
The former is expected to cost about £30million, while the latter is valued at around £70m, though United are understood to be trying to bring that price down.
