Barca and Gavi’s agents are “far apart” in their talks over money. Gavi though is said to be patient as he waits for a resolution. But Barcelona have very little space to manoeuvre financially. The club have still not registered new signing Ferran Torres from Man City. The cash-strapped LaLiga club have little space on the wage list, although Philippe Coutinho’s exit has given them more space to breathe.   While Barca are trying hard to balance the books, a big contract offer for Gavi is a problem. In that respect if they cannot agree a new deal with the player then they may look to cash in. Gavi has a €50m buyout clause and they may have no option but to sell him in the summer. And Liverpool are one of the clubs who are prepared to put the money up for the youngster.
