The salary Mykolenko will reportedly earn is half of what Lucas Digne currently makes. As such, should Digne leave in January, as expected, the Toffees will benefit financially. That will be a massive help to the Toffees given they were hampered by Financial Fair Play regulations in the summer. It should free up funds for Everton to be able to make more signings, should they desire to do so.
