And he reportedly thinks they can fill any gap created by De Jong’s departure. As per Transfermarkt, De Jong values at €90m – the most costly player, according to their ratings system, for any player in LaLiga. However, it’s widely reported that Barcelona are willing to accept offers from £58m (€70m) for the midfielder. That has predictably led to suggestions that both Liverpool and Manchester City are looking to swoop. And it’s the Reds whose need is the greater with there remaining a gap in their midfield.
