Manchester United will go all out to sign Jadon Sancho in the next month, while one Premier League suitor is emerging to sign Harry Kane from Spurs, all in the Euro papers.
UNITED WANT SANCHO DEAL DONE ASAP
Manchester United want a £78m deal agreed for Jadon Sancho before next month’s European Championship, claims a report.
Reliable German outlet BILD say with Edinson Cavani’s future resolved, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer wants a deal for the England international done imminently.
The commitment of Cavani to a new 12-month contract is understood to mean a move for Erling Haaland is off the table this summer. The Sun report it will be “increasingly difficult” to get Haaland now. Instead United will go back in for Borussia Dortmund star Sancho.
Sancho was United’s top target all last summer, but United could not agree a deal with Dortmund. This summer though Solskjaer wants the deal done early and a fee of around €90m is said to be an agreeable amount for Dortmund.
The development represents a turn around in events. It was understood United’s interest had cooled in Sancho. However, his form is starting to slowly return and United do not want to risk an inflated fee if the player excels with England.
Dortmund would like to keep hold of the 21-year-old. But they may find themselves powerless, particularly if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
They are currently in fourth spot with two games remaining, but Eintracht Frankfurt are just a point behind.
Speaking after the weekend’s game over Leipzig, Sancho said: “I’m very happy here right now. I love the club and the fans.”
Sancho though is still expected to make a return to England if a firm offer arrives from United.
