Haaland’s representatives were pictured in Barcelona on Thursday. Reports then revealed they had a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with Barca president Joan Laporta. The followed a meeting with Real Madrid, while Raiola then flew to England. There it was said he spoke with representatives of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. Haaland has a release clause of €75m (£64m) that activates next year. Losing a striker of that magnitude for such a lowly sum would be tough for Dortmund to stomach. It’s also one of the reasons why Manchester United missed out on signing him in January 2020. As such, The Sun claims Dortmund are ready to sell the Norwegian this summer. With his exit clause not active, Dortmund will look to sell the striker to the highest bidder. Indeed, it’s claimed Raiola’s mini tour was purely designed to help spark a bidding war. To that end, the Bundesliga side hope his price could reach well over €100m. Furthermore, Dortmund’s form in the Bundesliga has been patchy this season to say the least. BVB are currently fifth in the table but trail fourth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt by seven points. As such, they look in serious danger of missing out on a Champions League place. Any transfer for Haaland, however, will likely earn his agent Raiola a massive windfall. According to Marca, commission from his sale will see Raiola and his father, Alf-Inge, share €40m between them. The report claims this fee will be in addition to any monies paid to Dortmund. That will pocket Raiola and Haaland snr a cool £17m apiece from any potential sale. He posted a video of screenshots of such reports to his social media with the word ‘fake’ following each screenshot. Furthermore, it’s thought the discussions with clubs were only preliminary talks at this stage. At this point, Haaland doesn’t have permission to speak to any other club with no offer accepted and a long-term contract still in place.
