England boss Gareth Southgate is pondering whether to axe Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish from his Euro 2020 squad, while Lucas Torriera has urged a Man Utd man to move to Argentina with him, all in the papers.
SOUTHGATE HAS SHOCK ENGLAND PLAN
The Sun are reporting that Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish could miss out on a place in England’s squad for Euro 2020.
Gareth Southgate has apparently been so impressed with the re-emergence of Jesse Lingard that he could omit one of either Sancho or Grralish from his 23-man squad.
Lingard’s brilliant form on loan at West Ham propelled him back into the England set up after an absence of 18 months.
Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho and Aston Villa attacker Grealish were ruled out of the triple World Cup qualifying header through injury.
Southgate claimed 28-year-old Lingard had been “lucky” to be included, because of injuries to Grealish, Sancho, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. But the paper claim “Southgate has been so impressed by Lingard’s form, as well as his huge popularity within the squad, that he is trying to figure out who to omit to find room for him”.
