Liverpool are planning a swoop to bring in a talented Championship No 10, an in-form Leicester star is poised to sign a new deal, while Saturday’s transfer gossip claims Donny van de Beek has made a decision on his Manchester United future.
KLOPP SEES BARGAIN IN READING STAR OLISE
Liverpool are reportedly planning to sign Michael Olise this summer, with Jurgen Klopp seeing the Reading midfielder as a potential bargain.
Olise is out-of-contract at the Madejski Stadium in summer 2022 and has told the club he is not going to sign a new deal. The 19-year-old can therefore move on for a relatively-modest fee.
The teenager spent time with Manchester City and Chelsea as a young player, before joining Reading’s youth system.
However, both his former clubs are now back in the market for him. Last week, we exclusively revealed that Bayern Munich were also among his suitors.
With five goals and 10 assists to his name this season, Olise has outlined his abilities to shine at a higher level. Only Norwich’s Emi Buendia has more assists to his name – and he carried a £40m price tag when Arsenal were linked in January.
Now the Daily Express claims Liverpool are also in the mix to sign Olise. Indeed, they state that Klopp sees the youngster as having ‘Jack Grealish-like qualities’.
Olise can operate as a No 10, but likes to create space by drifting out wide. The paper claims Klopp thinks his attributes would be a major plus for the Reds.
As per The Athletic, any deal to sign him will cost around £8m this summer. That looks to be a shrewd signing for someone – and it’s a fee that has reportedly aroused Klopp’s interest.
