Liverpool have opened initial talks to bring a bargain forward to Anfield this summer, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims that Chelsea could make a shock alternative striker move.
STRIKER IN INITIAL TALKS OVER LIVERPOOL MOVE
Liverpool have reportedly already held initial talks over a transfer deal for Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
The Zambia international has been in superb form this season, scoring an impressive total of 30 goals in 32 games in all competitions.
The likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe have both been touted as potential targets for Jurgen Klopp.
However, it would appear the classy pair are out of the Anfield outfit’s price range, with a deal for Daka more likely.
The 22-year-old, who is contracted until summer 2024, can leave for around €35million, according to TodoFichajes.
Daka, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, has previously revealed his admiration for the Reds.
He said: “I’ve always been a fan of Liverpool and Barcelona. When we played Liverpool last season in the Champions League at Anfield, it was a very special moment.”
Both the Gunners and United are also in need of a new forward. But it would appear that Liverpool have stolen a march on their rivals.
