Tottenham’s first- and second-leg matches with Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League have been switched to avoid a clash with Arsenal’s home fixture against Olympiacos.
Under UEFA rules, two clubs from the same city cannot play on the same day, meaning Jose Mourinho’s side will now host Dinamo Zagreb at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on March 11 ahead of the return leg of their last-16 clash in Croatia the following week.
Arsenal are prioritised by UEFA because they won last season’s FA Cup, so their fixtures with Olympiacos remain unchanged.
The Gunners travel to Greece on March 11, with the second leg taking place at the Emirates Stadium on March 18.
Arsenal host bitter rivals Spurs in the Premier League on March 14.
Mourinho misfit tipped for revival
Peter Crouch believes that Dele Alli could become a key part of one of the most “exciting” attacking quartets in England if he earns more Tottenham minutes.
Alli has suffered a lack of game time under boss Jose Mourinho, often not making the squad at all this season.
However, the 24-year-old has shown flashes of his talent when the chances have arisen. He starred in the FA Cup win over Marine in January and has also played a key role in the Europa League.
Indeed, he scored an overhead kick and assisted two other goals in the 4-0 win over Wolfsberger last Wednesday.
As such, former Spurs man Crouch feels that Alli should be taking action over his lack of game time, even if the reasons behind his snub remain fully unclear.
“I was at Tottenham last Wednesday and I thought Alli was superb,” the pundit wrote for the Daily Mail.
“He had a glint in his eyes, he looked hungry and a class above. Yes, he was playing opponents who were average but his quality shone through and it was a reminder of how good he can be.
“So I could understand why he would have been frustrated yesterday. He hasn’t featured in nine of Tottenham’s Premier League squads this season and that is too much absence for a player of his class.” Read more…
