Rummenigge’s Sule comments leave transfer door wide open for Man Utd, Chelsea Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has hinted that reported Chelsea and Man Utd target Niklas Sule will have to be flexible over his new contract offer. Sule, 25, is only under contract in Bavaria until 2022 and the Bundesliga champions have a huge decision to make this summer. Rummenigge has said that Bayern are happy to offer Sule another deal, but that may well be a deal that is not as attractive as offers elsewhere. That could be the opening that the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United could exploit. Bild revealed recently that Sule is on Chelsea’s radar. Thiago Silva is yet to extend his contract in west London. While on-loan defender Fikayo Tomori’s future at Stamford Bridge is up in the air. Thomas Tuchel is expected to look at a new centre-back and his fellow countryman Sule apparently fits the bill. They will have competition though to sign Sule with Manchester United understood to have an interest in the former Hoffenheim man. Bild have also claimed (via the Daily Mirror) that Sule ‘dreams’ of playing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men. Solskjaer is also chasing a defender this summer and he searches for a long-term partner for Harry Maguire. Bayern contract offer will have ‘certain conditions’ Sule featured little last season, but has already played in 12 Bundesliga matches and four in the Champions League this time around. His stock is rising quickly and Bayern want to tie him down. “We want the good German national players at FC Bayern,” said Rummenigge, as quoted by Spox. “Niklas still has one year of contract. “We will hold talks and see where they lead. We will look at it seriously and calmly until the summer. Corona [coronavirus] has also caused financial damage to FC Bayern. “If we find a solution, we are generally happy to extend the contract, but that will only be possible under certain conditions.” Bayern have agreed to sign Dayot Upamecano in the summer, but they are also set to lose David Alaba on a free transfer. They will not want to go down the same route with Sule. Therefore a sale is likely if new terms are not agreed with the player. Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has hinted that reported Chelsea and Man Utd target Niklas Sule will have to be flexible over his new contract offer.

Bayern contract offer will have ‘certain conditions’

Sule featured little last season, but has already played in 12 Bundesliga matches and four in the Champions League this time around.

“If we find a solution, we are generally happy to extend the contract, but that will only be possible under certain conditions.”

Bayern have agreed to sign Dayot Upamecano in the summer, but they are also set to lose David Alaba on a free transfer.

They will not want to go down the same route with Sule. Therefore a sale is likely if new terms are not agreed with the player.
