Price tag revealed as Serie A star edges closer to Liverpool switch Reports in Italy have strengthened Liverpool’s links to Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul as Jurgen Klopp plans to ‘revolutionise’ his midfield in the summer. De Paul, 26, has been gaining a lot of attention due to his displays for Le Zebrette. The Argentina international has been a regular starter for the Serie A side since making his debut in August 2016. He has racked up 169 appearances in all competitions, scoring 30 times and has been appointed captain. The former Valencia man has started 21 of the club’s 22 league games this term, bagging five goals. It has not been the best of seasons for Udinese, as they sit 14th, but they are nine points clear of the relegation zone. De Paul has been a standout player and recently received high praise from club officials. Earlier this month Udinese sporting director Pasquale Marino suggested he could be the missing link for many top clubs. Liverpool and Leeds United were both credited with an interest in the January transfer window. Neither made a move but it would be no surprise to see others enter the picture in the summer. Italian outlet Tutto Udinese (via Sport Witness) feel the Reds will be in the mix for his signature. They report that Liverpool ‘continue’ to follow the midfielder and are ‘willing’ to make an effort. It is said that Klopp will look to rework his midfield at the end of the season. Whether that includes a place for De Paul only time will tell but he will not come cheap. The Stadio Friuli club will reportedly only entertain bids in the region of €40m for the Argentina international. They feel Liverpool will not pay that and would offer £30m for the talented schemer. Winter exit never an option There were rumours that De Paul might be on his way last month, with Serie A rivals Inter keen. But the former Racing Club ace, while non-committal on his future, was quick to play that down. “I don’t know when my last day here will be,” he said earlier in February. “I will give everything for Udinese until that moment. “There were many rumours about my future in January, but I immediately met the director to tell him I wanted to go nowhere. I closed doors for everyone, my daughter was born here, and my son is going to be born here, he will be Friulano.”   READ MORE: Klopp admits Van Dijk retribution thoughts for Liverpool The post Price tag revealed as Serie A star edges closer to Liverpool switch appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING
