Manchester City reportedly have their eyes on two strikers this summer as they look for a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Aguero, 32, is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree a new contract with the club.
The striker, who has blasted more than 250 goals for City since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2011, has hardly featured for City this season due to injury and illness.
City are expected to add to their forward line regardless of Aguero’s future and two names have cropped up.
Calcio Mercato report that City are watching developments closely in Milan regarding former Man Utd striker Romelu Lukaku.
Inter are in the midst of financial problems and selling their star man would alleviate such worries. Lukaku left United unceremoniously in the summer of 2019.
However, he has been a huge hit with Inter, scoring 54 goals in 78 games. The Belgian has smashed 20 already this season in just 27 games.
PSG are also looking for a new No.9 and have their eyes on Lukaku with the Italian source claiming there are “no lack of proposals” for the former Everton man.
What’s more The Athletic also claim City are interested in the 27-year-old.
David Ornstein reports that Lukaku is most definitely on City’s radar and he would be a cheaper alternative to Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland or Harry Kane.
None of that quartet will be easy to come by and costly too, while Lukaku would be a proven striker with a much cheaper price tag.
The outlet also suggest Southampton striker Danny Ings is also in Pep Guardiola’s thinking. But not as an alternative to Lukaku, but as well as.
They claim “City’s recruitment operation is sufficiently advanced to prepare for most eventualities, such as the idea of acquiring two new forwards”.

Ings future
The former Liverpool frontman has attracted plenty of interest this season with Tottenham, Everton and Leicester all linked with the player.
Spurs enquired about Ings in September, according to The Sun, but were fended off. However, Jose Mourinho revived his interest last month although a deal never transpired.
Ings is understood to be keen to test himself at Champions League level. He is yet to pen a new deal on the table with Saints.
The Telegraph reports that Southampton have offered the player a “historic” new four-year deal.
Asked last month if Ings would sign a new contract, Ralph Hasenhuttl replied: “Yes.
“If he wants Champions League football, he must score 10-15 more goals for us and we can go there. It’s not impossible, I don’t think.”
Ings will have just 12 months left on his deal on the south coast in the summer. And now City are have thrown their name in the hat for the 28-year-.old
