Last season, he guided the club to three cup semi-finals, but lost them all. However, he did secure a top-four finish. This time around, the target could be even higher. United were top of the table recently, but have lost ground since then. Even so, despite a five-point gap to leaders Man City – who have a game in hand – United are still in the title race. Solskjaer’s reign has had moments of turbulence, but with things looking up again, he may be set for a reward. According to The Sun, Solskjaer could receive a new contract.
