European giant dithering over whether to pay €25m for Man Utd misfit AC Milan are reportedly undecided whether they want to turn Digo Dalot’s loan switch from Manchester United into a permanent one. The full-back joined the Serie A giants last summer on a temporary switch until the end of the season. Dalot has impressed, albeit in a lesser role for Milan, making the majority of his starts in the Europa League. The versatile defender has played on either side of the Milan defence when needed. However, there are debates in Italy as to whether he has done enough to earn a permanent switch. Initial reports suggested that there was no clause inserted for a loan to buy. But according to Gazzetta dello Sport that is not the case and Milan can pursue a deal if they so wish. Gazzetta states, as cited by Sport Witness, that ‘the club with the most shots in the barrel is Milan’, when referring to Dalot and fellow loanee Brahim Diaz. The report adds that ‘Dalot from Manchester United and Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid were signed in the summer with an option of €25m each’. However, it would appear Milan are more likely to move for Diaz, rather than fork out €50m for the pair. Dalot will certainly he hoping for a permanent switch, after falling behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka at United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has even used Victor Lindelof as a makeshift right-back.
