Jamie Carragher deemed Thiago Alcantara to be a “liability” at one specific aspect of the game, and had his say on Alisson Becker after another disastrous error cost Liverpool points.
The Reds took the lead through a superbly worked goal between Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
That would prove to be as good as it got for Liverpool, however, as Leicester produced a three-goal blitz inside eight minutes to heap more pressure on Liverpool’s ailing top four hopes.
The comeback sparked from a rash challenge from summer recruit Thiago close to his own box.
Referee Anthony Taylor initially appeared to award a penalty after Harvey Barnes was felled. But VAR ultimately adjudged the contact to have been outside the box.
It mattered not though as James Maddison would go on to score direct from the set piece.
Thiago has shown glimpses of his incisive passing range in a Liverpool shirt, but has also picked up his fair share of yellow cards for poorly-timed challenges.
Speaking on Twitter soon after the incident, outspoken pundit Carragher labelled Thiago a “liability defensively”.
Furthermore, Carragher claimed Alisson’s decision making has “gone awol” after his third error in just 180 minutes of action.
Liverpool outstanding up until 1-1. Thiago a liability defensively! The Keeper’s decision making gone awol last 2 games!! #LEILIV

Quintet touted in Leeds, Raphinha swap
Meanwhile, A pair of Champions League winners have been speculated as potential makeweights should Liverpool act on their interest in Leeds sensation Raphinha.
Liverpool have lacked their usual cutting edge at the business end despite often boasting an overwhelming majority of possession.
One sure-fire way to remedy the situation is through the transfer window. Leeds winger Raphinha has hit the ground running in England, and Liverpool have duly taken note.
With the Reds facing a struggle to secure the riches of Champions League football, however, cash in the summer could be tight.
As such, the Daily Express report that a cash-plus-player deal could be an option.
