Dalot is believed to be happy in Italy and is open to extending his stay – either on loan again or permanently. The big question mark will be if Milan can afford to make the deal a permanent one. Like many clubs across Europe, they are not in a position to spend big due to the coronavirus pandemic. The report adds that Rossoneri would be willing to pay around £15m plus add-ons for him. That is someway short of the £19m the Red Devils handed over to Porto in 2018. However, Dalot is currently on around £40,000-a-week, which is well within Milan’s wage structure. As for United, they have yet to make their mind up over the player’s long-term future. They have, however, been monitoring his progress in Italy closely. Dalot has just two-years left on his Old Trafford deal at the end of this term. There is an option. though. to extend for a further 12-months. His ability to play at either right-back or left-back certainly makes him a useful squad player. But United now have Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles and Brandon Williams all fighting for full-back spots. That could lead them to consider cashing in on Dalot and looking to strengthen their squad elsewhere with those funds.
