Man Utd close in on two exits as fringe stars get dream transfer wishes Manchester United pair Marcos Rojo and Facundo Pellistri are close to leaving Old Trafford on permanent and loan deals, respectively. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed on Friday that it is “likely” that Rojo will return to Argentina. Meanwhile, he said earlier this week that young winger Pellistri could leave on loan to get first-team action. As such, Sky Sports News claims that both deals are close to completion. Argentinian centre-back Rojo has spent recent weeks in his home country while he nurses a calf injury. But the 30-year-old has trained with Boca Juniors this week and is close to signing a deal there. Indeed, his absence from the country goes hand-in-hand with the fact that he has not featured at all for United this season. However, his situation has stayed the same for a while. He only made one Premier League start last season before signing up to a loan with Estudiantes in January 2020. Pellistri, meanwhile, is looking to taste first-team football having remained in the reserves since arriving in October. Sky Sports News adds that Spanish club Alaves have agreed a deal in principle with United for the 19-year-old winger. Pellistri moved to Old Trafford with significant expectations, but has only made two EFL Trophy appearances. In fact, an appearance on the bench in the Champions League is the closest he has come to making a first-team outing. Instead, fellow teenage winger Amad Diallo has been judged by Solskjaer to be further along in his development pathway. The manager said of the 18-year-old earlier this week: “With Amad, I think it’s a different scenario. He’s just come in, he’s going through a good training regime and training programme and he’s doing well. “It won’t be too long, I feel, before I can bring him into the squad.” Lingard adds to raft of Man Utd exits While United have not added any new signings to their ranks this month, Jesse Lingard is another who has left temporarily. Like Rojo, the midfielder had become frozen out and had only made three appearances this season. As such, he has opted to move to West Ham until the end of the season, where he is looking forward to a reunion with David Moyes. Manchester United pair Marcos Rojo and Facundo Pellistri are close to leaving Old Trafford on permanent and loan deals, respectively.

“It won’t be too long, I feel, before I can bring him into the squad.”

Lingard adds to raft of Man Utd exits

Jesse Lingard West Ham

While United have not added any new signings to their ranks this month, Jesse Lingard is another who has left temporarily.

Like Rojo, the midfielder had become frozen out and had only made three appearances this season.

As such, he has opted to move to West Ham until the end of the season, where he is looking forward to a reunion with David Moyes.
