Man Utd braced for bid as Juventus form plan to sign star for discount Juventus will wait until the summer to try and re-sign Paul Pogba, as they feel Manchester United may accept a lower offer then. Pogba has been regularly linked with a return to Juventus since leaving the club to re-join United in 2016. At the time, the transfer was the most expensive in history. However, Pogba has not always lived up to expectations. A four-time Serie A winner with Juve, Pogba is yet to get his hands on the Premier League trophy – although that remains his target. The French midfielder is currently enjoying a brighter patch of form, but the truth is that he has been inconsistent for the duration of his United career. Therefore, it may be coming to an end. Controversial agent Mino Raiola recently claimed that Pogba’s time at United was done and that there would be no choice but to leave in the summer. He claimed his client was no longer happy at Old Trafford. Pogba has reiterated his commitment to the club, but with his contract expiring in 2022, United may have to cash in on him anyway. There have been links with a move to Real Madrid, where he could work under compatriot Zinedine Zidane. However, a return to Juventus seems the more feasible option.   According to Fabrizio Romano, writing for Calciomercato, such a move would have to wait until the summer. But Juventus have a plan. The Serie A champions want to take Pogba back at the end of the season. By that time, there will be just 12 months left on his contract with United. Therefore, Juventus feel they have a better chance of landing the midfielder for a discounted fee. They also believe United may be more likely to explore different formulas. For example, if Juve do not want to pay a hefty fee, they could offer some players in part exchange. United are not necessarily keen on this idea, but their stance may change by the summer. Juve have previously tried to offer Aaron Ramsey or Adrien Rabiot to United in bids to take Pogba back. However, there has been no interest from the Red Devils. In the summer, though, there may be more pressure to explore such deals.
