Newcastle have also been linked with the player. A move to Leeds though looks unlikely with Liam Cooper and Diego Llorente fit again. Robin Koch is also closing in on a return. The Athletic back up that stance and say that Marcelo Bielsa is not interested in acquiring a new centre-back in this window and will stick with his current options. Newcastle may be a more viable option for the the 23-year-old, who earned his first senior England cap last season. Funds are once again expected to be tight for Steve Bruce, meaning the loan market will be utilised. The Daily Mail claims that Bruce has enquired about the player as he looks to shore up a defence which has conceded 26 goals in 16 games. Lampard excited Meanwhile, Frank Lampard says that his job as Chelsea manager has become “more exciting” because of their recent poor run of form. Lampard has come under pressure after four defeats in six Premier League matches. But the Blues boss revealed himself as a glutton for managerial punishment.
