Allardyce turns down deal for Man Utd man and flying Championship winger New West Brom boss Sam Allardyce has turned down the chance to sign wingers Duncan Watmore and Daniel James in the January transfer window. That’s the view from the Daily Mail, who report that Allardyce, who most recently watched his side hammered 5-0 by Leeds, is looking to strengthen other areas. The former England boss is understood to be admirers of both players, but instead he wants to strengthen West Brom’s spine. Allardyce is looking to recruit a centre-back, midfielder and striker to try help the Baggies survive. James has found game-time difficult to come by in the current season. With Mason Greenwood’s continued development and Edinson Cavani’s arrival James has been on the periphery. The 23-year-old has been involved in three of the last four Premier League matches and started in the 6-2 win over Leeds. According to the Manchester Evening News, the Wales winger is determined to fight for his place within the Man Utd squad. Still it seems James, who has been linked to Everton, was offered to WBA. Watmore, 26, is a different proposition. He only recently signed a short-term deal with Middlesbrough, which expires this month.       Despite on arriving on Teesside in November, as revealed exclusively by TEAMtalk, the former Sunderland man has hit the ground running. Warnock ‘worried’ over Watmore Watmore has scored five goals in eight games and Boro boss Neil Warnock has admitted he is “worried” by the situation. Warnock said: “Duncan’s enjoying it and I hope he stays. We’re talking to him all the time and I do hope he stays. “I think he’s enjoying it. He didn’t want to come off tonight so I left him on. “You do worry [that he’s yet to sign a new deal], but life’s too short. All we can do is try and if it doesn’t come off then you move on.” Watmore would be available on a free transfer and it seems his agent has been trying to work on a Premier League deal.
