Roy Keane tears into five Man Utd players that Solskjaer ‘cannot trust’ Roy Keane has outlined one area of the pitch that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to address and will prevent Man United winning trophies. It was an improved display from Tuesday, however, when defeat to RB Leipzig saw them slip into the Europa League. There was little threat going forward and the Red Devils relied on an improved defence to take a point.  Despite the fact the rearguard did their job against Pep Guardiola’s side, Keane is still concerned about Solskjaer’s defence. “We talk about trust in football, the back four and the goalkeeper are for me still the biggest problems, “ he said on Sky Sports. “Okay, they did well today but that’s not a back-four that will take you places and that’s a big concern.” And the former United skipper does not see the current players being able to string together enough wins to challenge. “You just don’t know what you’re going to get from Man United right now,” he added. “That’s not a good sign when you’re not sure what you’re going to get from the team. “Can you really trust this group to go on a run? Add to that the ongoing saga over Paul Pogba’s future and it is a worrying period for the former United favourite. But he refused to be too downbeat after Saturday’s match and felt it was far from all doom and gloom. “In my time against Manchester City that’s the best performance we have had,” he told Sky Sports. “Not the best result but the best performance. “It was a tight game. I know we beat them a few times last season but those were different games. They had a few big moments.” United are next in action when they travel to Brammall Lane to take on winless Sheffield United on Thursday.   READ MORE: Shaw’s startling derby admission     The post Roy Keane tears into five Man Utd players that Solskjaer ‘cannot trust’ appeared first on teamtalk.com. - SPORT BETTING

Roy Keane has outlined one area of the pitch that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to address and will prevent Man United winning trophies.

United made a slow start to the campaign but four straight victories saw them leap up the standings. Wins over Everton, West Brom, Southampton and West Ham boosted confidence and gave hope of a possible title challenge.

However, a dour 0-0 draw with rival Manchester City on Saturday means they now sit eighth in the table.

“Okay, they did well today but that’s not a back-four that will take you places and that’s a big concern.”

And the former United skipper does not see the current players being able to string together enough wins to challenge.

“You just don’t know what you’re going to get from Man United right now,” he added. “That’s not a good sign when you’re not sure what you’re going to get from the team.

“Can you really trust this group to go on a run? The answer is no.”

Solskjaer taking positives

Despite an insipid performance against City, the Old Trafford chief chose to put a positive spin on the result. It is not the first time the Norwegian has had to defend his charges.

He has presided over a tough time at the club, with one step forward and two back at times.

They had a few big moments.”

United are next in action when they travel to Brammall Lane to take on winless Sheffield United on Thursday.
