Crystal Palace are bracing themselves for a bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Wilfried Zaha, according to reports.
Zaha has been heavily linked with a move away from Palace in recent years after seemingly outgrowing them with his levels of form.
For example, Tottenham and Arsenal are among those to have been linked. There were also some rumours of an unlikely return to Manchester United.
With the January transfer window approaching, and after a strong start to the season, Zaha’s future has come under the spotlight again.
The Ivory Coast international has been thriving in a more central role this season. He has eight goals and two assists from 14 Premier League games so far.
His importance to Palace is clear, which is why they may be worried if big clubs come calling for the 28-year-old again.
However, they may not be the only suitor in Europe. According to The Sun, PSG could make a move if Mauricio Pochettino becomes their new manager.
Pochettino is expected to be the man to replace the recently sacked Thomas Tuchel. The ex-Tottenham boss previously played for PSG and could now return to the French capital as a coach.
Should his appointment be confirmed, he will quickly turn his attention to the transfer market. PSG are in need of reinforcements to get back to the summit of Ligue 1.
Poch wanted Zaha at Spurs
Pochettino was a driving force behind Tottenham’s previous interest in Zaha. Therefore, The Sun claim that Palace are wary he could rekindle his interest from his potential new club.
PSG will back their new boss in the transfer market, although it could take up to £50m to lure Zaha away. Palace are desperate to keep hold of their key player, who is under contrct until 2023.
Zaha wants to test himself at the highest level again, though, so may be receptive to offers.
