The Clarets were due to entertain United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, but the fixture was postponed to allow United an extended break following the European exploits. Now United see a big opportunity to apply the pressure to Klopp’s men and want the Burnley game played next month. Burnley and United both have a free midweek next month and their game in hand could feasibly be played on Tuesday, January 12 or Wednesday 13. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer mistakenly thought Burnley had a midweek fixture the week beginning January 11 when he was asked earlier this month.       “I haven’t had a date or a time now because obviously we’re in the Carabao Cup,” Solskjaer said on December 16. “We’re still in the Europa League and the first free midweek we’ve got – hopefully we could be in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup – the free week we’ve got after that, Burnley have a midweek game that week, so it could be a long while yet.” United target Kounde Meanwhile, Sevilla’s Jules Kounde has once again emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United, but others are also under consideration. The Red Devils are currently enjoying a great run of form that sees them second in the Premier League standings. However, it is thought that boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still look to add new faces in January. The transfer window opens on Friday and the biggest clubs will be linked to those deemed available. United were named as possible suitors for the France Under-21 stopper in the summer but nothing materialised. Rivals Manchester City were thought to be at the front of the queue for his signature. But they baulked at the price and opted for Ruben Dias instead. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Old Trafford giants still hold an interest in the talented youngster.
